The Joke is on U.S.

Being a cynical person to begin with, I must admit that the wool was completely pulled over my eyes and dare to say that I was incredibly naive when I placed my vote for what has turned out to be one of the worst Presidents to ever hold office. Each day, impossible as it may seem, things get worse and worse. All anyone had to do to realize (from the beginning of this joke of a Presidency), was to observe who this President has surrounded himself with in his cabinet and advisers from day one (Geithner, and Summers especially). I remember watching and listening to Obama on the campaign trail repeatedly promising to end the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, to bring the troops home. Just one of the many promises, he has failed to deliver upon. What's worse is that he had the ability to accomplish this with the Democratic majorities in both the House and the Senate after winning the election. But as we all must face it, he never intended to fulfill that promise...NEVER. Rather than taking seriously his fictional book, 'Audacity of Hope' (which should have just been called 'Audacity'), we should have known right from the beginning where this was headed. I never in my wildest dreams thought that this man could be just as bad as the last fool (criminal) to hold this office.

From the criminal bailouts of the banks and Wall Street to this phony debt ceiling crisis, among many other of his actions and inactions will end up destroying what's left of the middle class, the elderly, not to mention the poor by cutting entitlement programs including Medicare, Social Security, education, and much more. Obama, not unlike most of Congress and the Senate, is controlled by special interest groups, and has been since the beginning. Just follow the money, and there lies the truth. When he will, silently with glee, and sign the inevitable Debt Ceiling bill that will be passed, it will be an utter catastrophe. Watching his recent speech to the American Public, where he absolved himself from responsibility for this stalemate and his intention of not wanting to cut our social programs is a blatant smokescreen. True, the majority of the Republicans are in the pockets of special interest groups through their lobbyists (who by the way, are mainly ex-politicians), but most of the Democrats are no better. This two party dictatorship must end. We MUST insist on campaign finance reform, and get other parties into our electoral process and have a REAL democracy.

It seems that besides a few places in this country, like Wisconsin, there is little protest. Where are the rallies and marches? civil disobedience? which have occurred in the Muslim World. My belief is that we, as a country, and as a people (besides the wealthiest one or two percent) are too busy (and understandably so) worrying about our own daily survival as unemployment and foreclosures skyrocket and so many people wonder where they'll receive their next meal. Of course, our corporate media plays a major role in deadening our senses, with focusing in on the latest celebrity scandal or on the Casey Anthony murder trial. This so called press, is the ultimate conspiracy of them all. Whomever controls the press, and media, etc., controls our collective thoughts. George Orwell would be proud.....no joke.

When Will We Finally Get It?

I don't know about you, but I can't but help in feeling hopeless with all that's going on in the world. After reading two very important books by author and activist, John Perkins ('Confessions of an Economic Hit Man and 'The Secret History of the American Empire'), the realization that the same terrible actions by the "corporatocracy" continue unabated. This link between these huge criminal corporations and government are at the core of most of the ills of the world. Perkins remains hopeful because of organizations that are focused on change. He feels we still have a chance, but writes that unless all the children of the world have the same opportunities, change will not occur. But what are the realities of this happening? He strongly urges all of us to take proactive steps to end the corporatocracies. A few of these steps are: researching which companies use exploitation in their practices and refrain from buying their products, writing to those companies why we refuse to purchase these products, joining progressive movements, writing to our representatives, and non-violent disobedience. However, during the worst economic period since the Great Depression, people are more focused on survival and feeding their families, trying to find a job, any job. The corporate media is like an opium to the masses and puts s**t on tv and the "news" is rather propaganda than real journalism.

The floods and devastation in Pakistan are not just a "natural disaster" but have occurred due to man made climate change and made extremely worse due to projects conducted by the "assistance" of the World Bank and IMF including the creation of farmlands (which benefited the country's elite) in areas that would have been buffers to the flood and prevented much of this devastation. The fact that the so called relief efforts have been minimal in comparison to other disasters, including the Asian tsunami, shouts out Islamaphobia. The US more concerned with sending killer drones to attack "insurgents" than sending such needed aid to these doomed people speaks for itself.

Instead, what are we focused on? A so called "Ground Zero" mosque in NYC (which is mainly a social center and NOT on Ground Zero). The Republicans are using this as a campaign issue, while the weakling Democrats are either succumbing (as the most powerful Democrat in the Senate, Harry Reid did) or not making a stand. While the mass rapes continue in the (ironically called) Democratic Republic of the Congo and we do nothing about it, rather, we are focused on creating and pushing hate as Muslims are targeted daily for practicing their religion. This Islamaphobia is the new anti-semitism. Using a scapegoat for their ills rather than focusing on the real problem---corporatocracy. I wonder when the concentration camps will be set up? I naively really believed that when I voted for Obama, the country was headed in the right direction, however, this Manchurian Candidate has been a wet dream for the right wing and Wall Street criminals. He has continued the previous administration's stance on nearly every subject (and even taken it further in many instances). I didn't think it was possible to have a worse administration than the previous one but sadly I feel I was wrong. The huge corporations continue their stranglehold on our representatives. All three branches of our government are now controlled in this manner. If I'm not mistaken, Mussolini called this Fascism.

As the title of this article states, when will we finally get it? I'm afraid we won't.

More Threats To Completely End Democracy

As we continue on in our lives, losing more and more rights due to the corporate elite's control over our government, it should not surprise you that our democracy took another strong blow. California has followed the state of Washington in passing Proposition 14 which basically takes away the ability of a third party candidate to run for office. The corporate elite fear an outside party member elected to office of Congressman/Senator and President other than the two corrupted ones that currently exist. Proposition 14 was put forth, deceiving the constituents to believe that they would have more options, while in reality it severely limited them. The fact is that if a third party candidate who may not be corrupted was elected, the corporate elite would lose their grip over that particular state. They would not be able to benefit by a candidate who is not under obligation due to campaign contributions. Of course they would not let this happen and in fact did not, as Proposition 14 was passed by deception. The precedent first began in Washington State, now in California and who knows where else it will go. My guess is that eventually all the citizens of this country will be bound by law to only be able to vote for candidates from one of the two parties (which in actuality is one). People like Ralph Nader, the Green Party, the Tea Party, among others will not be able to run for high office. If this happens folks, we will eventually come under TOTAL control of the corporate elites, and eventually one world government. As we continually lose all of our rights set forth by the founding fathers, the Fourth Reich will arrive. Our mainstream media is already taken over, the internet is in imminent danger of being "regulated" (our last bastion of freedom), and tyranny is already upon us, unless we stand up, and fight for our return to a REAL democracy we will all end up under total control of a few very rich and powerful criminals. Please wake up and inform yourselves before it's too late.

Federal Appeals Panel Upholds District Judge's Order to block deep water oil drilling (what a surprise!)

Another victory for the corporate elite. "Drill baby Drill!"! Sure, let's keep on drilling in the wake of the current "accident" so that another disaster will occur. It comes as no surprise that this panel of 3 judges upholds the District Judge',s order allowing the continuation of drilling. I wonder how much they are getting paid by these huge financial interests to uphold this order? What will our inept President and corrupt Congress do about this? Absolutely nothing is the answer. As long as we keep voting these evil, corrupt creatures into office, the blame is squarely upon us. But in actuality, we should know that even if we can elect even one honest, caring politician into office in the hope of changing the system, it will do no good. Look what happened to Cynthia Mckinney. She was one of the few who actually presented the truth and what happened? When it was time for her re-election, the Republicans put all their funds into her Democratic rival's campaign. They even had Republicans switch sides and vote in the democratic primary ensuring her loss (she was eventually re-elected but not before losing that particular election, due to a huge effort by many concerned residents of her district). It's so well known that if a new Congressperson or Senator is elected with the intent of change, they will be buried by the 'Good Ole Boys/Girls Club', not put on any meaningful committee in a power position and then lose their re-election bid. It's time to wake up folks. Join progressive groups, demonstrations, make your voice heard. Time is running out.

Group in Upstate SC Meets to discuss end of war

We know how desperately we need major changes in the US beginning with ousting our greedy, corrupt, and inept politicians. One of the most important changes is to end the war in Afghanistan. This war has absolutely nothing to do with killing the Taliban, rooting out insurgents or bringing "freedom and democracy" to another country. We are there for no other reasons other than building a gas pipeline(that will go to Europe and not have to run through Russia), extracting the enormous amount of lithium, and corporate greed (including companies like Halliburton and other defense contractors). The mainstream media is controlled by a few companies with their own agenda (and that is not putting out what is really going on). So for all of us to be really informed we must go to the internet (the last bastion of freedom) to receive the true news.

Yesterday afternoon I met with well renowned, author/activist Tim Gatto and his wife Sue Anne to create a force in South Carolina that is focused on ending the war in Afghanistan. There were a number of people that came to the meeting (which was set up by RethinkAfganistan.com) which reinforce our determination to recruit the masses needed. We are thinking up new strategies to show the people what is really going on. Tim and I have created 'The South Carolina Upstate Coalition' and have received a great deal of interest already and will continue the fight. Please join us, as we want an immediate end to this evil war.
